Now I've come to pay attention to something I never cared about when I was in high school which is The Internet of Things. I'm more of a desktop guy, I like creating applications in Java that have to be installed and run in site. But the phenomenon known as The Internet of Things that aims to automate everything and interconnect the world making use of The Cloud is one of the most impressive efforts I've seen in recent years and promises a revolution like one seen with the introduction of the Desktop Computer.
Just think about it, automated homes, massive parallel robots and much more that can make our lives easier and more comfortable.
While I knew I had to learn JavaScript, I never gave it much attention due to my lack of focus on the web. Especially when my robotic project failed given the lack of server-side facilities which meant I had to learn one of the many (literally hundreds) of languages to do that, then build the framework for client and server. Too much hassle...
But come Node.js a solution meant to provide Server side programming to web users and things like autonomous network robots become available more easily. That makes me so excited and for now these days have been spent trying to learn Node.js, JQuery and JavaScript.
There are too many tutorials, many outdated and others too abstract for my liking. I'll publish what has worked for me in the Informatics section.
