UNIT 01. Computer Numerical Control.
What's a numerical control application?
Its the sequence of orders that follow a logical operation that will be performed by a CNC machine.
A numerical control program is made of commads logically organized that describes the measuring units type, the coordinates system (absolute or incremental), the speed of the movements, rotational speed, etc.
Its the sequence of orders that follow a logical operation that will be performed by a CNC machine.
A numerical control program is made of commads logically organized that describes the measuring units type, the coordinates system (absolute or incremental), the speed of the movements, rotational speed, etc.
There are two types of information one must know in order to create a CNC application:
1.-The geometric information represents the data on the form of the piece.
The program is divided into three parts, although they are seamless. They are: 1.-The program's header contains codes that prepare the machine for its functioning. They can be:
|
2.-The program's body contains all information to create the piece's geometry, for example:
3.- The program's footer contains all information needed to deactivate the active commands in the program in order to stop the machining process. They must be enacted in order.
- Fast movement (G00).
- Lineal cut (G01 FXX).
- Circular cut (G02 for clockwise, G03 counterclockwise).
- Tool compensation (G41 left compensation, G42 right compensation).
- Drilling cycles.
3.- The program's footer contains all information needed to deactivate the active commands in the program in order to stop the machining process. They must be enacted in order.
- Stop the leadscrew rotation (M05).
- Stop the cooler's flow (M09).
- Save the tool in the rack (M06 T0 where 0 must be the empty slot).
- Reset the application (M02).
- Safety shutdown (M30).
