Enjoy!
A long time ago I found this wonderful video with such wise words, I absolutely loved it. Wish I had heard this a long time ago, I believe my life would've been way more effective and efficient than it is now.
Enjoy!

First attempt at my "become braza" challenge, found this study guide and will follow it in order to improve my performance. You may not believe it but before college I didn't need to study and wasn't used to, my mind retained all data (mostly from Programming) and advanced the subjects by myself for fun. I DON'T LIKE MATH so I quickly forget what I study everytime, as such, and because I need to become a true and complete engineer this year, I will change my study habits. Lets go!
http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/~rapaport/howtostudy.html No, I'm not talking about the flesh and blood ones! No, looking through the net for a good platform or advances in domotics protocols I came across DOG which stands for Domotic OSGi Gateway, its an open-source platform to develop domotic applications. Still not gonna use it though as I'm trying to design my own model using Processing but you may find it useful so you can check it here: http://elite.polito.it/dog-tools-72 "You're wrong, you know. You do count. You've always counted and I've always trusted you." ―Sherlock Holmes Just kidding, but I really liked those characters, they are so awkward and I have a thing for smart, loyal, dorky (more like unconventional, despite my obsessive need to standardize and classify, I find conventional things boring) characters.
Outside of that, keep making progress on the project. Found this library (for Processing of course) that lets me call several sketches from a main sketch, just what I was looking for. An alternative for Windows users is the Mother library. http://gicentre.org/utils/index.php Still, not much time to celebrate, I have four exams this week and keeps just keep going downhill on that, whereas my coffee intake keeps growing. I'm making some progress in my projects by using the Processing.org language. I have to admit its amazing how much can be achieved in such a short time using high level languages such as this. I'm trying to communicate the software with MatLAB as expected from the course even though I'd prefer to work it fully with Processing, after all, what's the point of slowing down an application by running another that does exactly the same? Besides I have a thing for free open-source code, which seems more in tune with my philosophy that information and knowledge should be free that resonates with Processing. Anyway, will see if I can develop two versions, that robot arm is certainly of interest. I'm also thinking of building a personal mobile robot to carry my luggage, it has been a personal idea for some time and I really hope to get to that but sadly I still need more resources if I'm to get it built. Now on to some interesting GLSL graphic libraries to extend Processing's already powerful renderer. http://glgraphics.sourceforge.net/ http://amnonp5.wordpress.com/2012/06/17/playing-with-glsl-in-processing/ Finally after a long time got to install my printer drivers in Ubuntu Linux. One has to admit its a wonderful Operative System, I love the seamless interface it grants with the ability to easily install lots of free and legal software (I feel guilty when using cracked software gotta admit) and a seamless interface where everything falls into place in an ordered manner. I've always felt annoyed with Window's slow and clumsy interface (which has only got worse with every new version, at least in my eyes) and the need to download and install ANOTHER program for everything I want to do, then typing its name in the search bar, wait for it to appear and finally get to use it with another icon. It just feels too cluttered and stresses me.
I have to admit the recent changes Ubuntu has been going through have been difficult too. I truly disliked the Unity bar as it is, I find annoying to have to click on the icons and wait for it to show me which application I want to see to finally choose it. It feels like a waste of valuable time to me. I managed to turn back to the old Gnome interface, forgot how though, I believe it was through a Dock I downloaded and severe tweaking. My computer crashed several times until I got the desired result. I prefer it, simple, easy and shows exactly as much information as needed, no more, no less. Now really, TvTropes will ruin your life...my life's pretty busy as it is to have to spend even more hours on fruitless (but oh so enjoyable) reading articles on literature and TV. Been pretty busy these days, my improvement plans are going but a little slow compared to what I've intended. I always take more time than planned to finish my activities, although my project's going fine right now, its still gonna take longer to get It doesn't help to be reading, will try to cut it out a little more. For now I've also seen a lot of interesting articles these days that I wanted to share.
First one about harsh truths on becoming a better person, I believe it is the reality of life, as harsh as it is but seriously, its about Utilitarism and Materialism rather than idealism. We live on a needs based world, its reflected in our laws, in our economic system and our behavior. This article sums it out nicely so I wanted to share it with you: http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-harsh-truths-that-will-make-you-better-person/ I also got to read about David Pearce, its interesting to see that a lot of people from many different disciplines have joined (or started in his case!) the Transhumanist movement: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Pearce_(philosopher) And finally for my number one time waster! I've been watching this series on vacations (my sis forced me too but now I'm a fan) and gotta admit is even better than the movies, Cumberbatch's acting is incredible and the music, the story, it all is so fitting with the old Sherlock myths but at the same time the modernism and tech in the story makes it even more appealing. They even got to the task of creating the character's personal blog. Very interesting and highly recommended story. I haven't watched the last of season 2 due to lack of time but will once I get the chance. Besides, I'm waiting for season 3 to air, hope it gets soon! http://www.thescienceofdeduction.co.uk/ http://www.johnwatsonblog.co.uk/blog/16ajune http://www.mollyhooper.co.uk/blog/02april |
