MongoDB
A non-SQL database system.Unlike SQL based database such as MySQL, non-SQL based databases have become more popular in recent years to manage large amounts of data.
Unlike SQL these databases don't make use of indexing and ID's to keep track of the information stored within which allows for more flexibility and speed when working with large amounts of data. Nonetheless they posses some disadvantages that make them another alternative to SQL based databases rather than a replacement. |
Installation [1].
$ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv EA312927
$ echo "deb http://repo.mongodb.org/apt/ubuntu "$(lsb_release -sc)"/mongodb-org/3.2 multiverse" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mongodb.list
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install mongodb
To start or stop MongoDB.
$ sudo service mongod start
$ sudo service mongod stop
$ echo "deb http://repo.mongodb.org/apt/ubuntu "$(lsb_release -sc)"/mongodb-org/3.2 multiverse" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mongodb.list
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install mongodb
To start or stop MongoDB.
$ sudo service mongod start
$ sudo service mongod stop
